Included below is the Summer TV E-Skip gallery of Chris Kadlec. Most of these captures were taken in the 2001, 2005, and 2006 seasons, which were the best in recent years. Images were taken with an ordinary computer webcam, and therefore the quality of these images are not nearly as impressive as the actual television viewing of the shown pictures, which are available here only in thumbnail format. This by no means is the full collection of captures as there are thousands of captures from catches all across North America. Impressive catches include Havana's rare Tele Rebelde flagship station on Channel 2 and double-hop catch KCAL 9 on Channel 2 from Los Angeles, the final station received during the 2006 season. Some thumbnail images contain closed captioning on the bottom of the picture or self-ID of the station in the upper right corner, indicating great reception. A twelve-second video of WBRZ reception from July 2001 is available for viewing as well.

Note: This map can also be used for FM during the summer E-Skip season. FM lies just above Channel 6 and often originates from the same regions as VHF Es does. Fremont is 100 miles ENE of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Distant Es - unlikely past 1400 miles but possible through distant Es or else double-hop E-Skip

Common Es - most common reception is received in this zone; daily or else weekly reception

Short-Range E-Skip - Es is received from here most typically yet the most distant tropo also

Tropo - this area is usually void of any reception yet is received during stronger tropo openings

Common Tropo Range - the most common areas of tropo reception, as logged since 1998

Lake Inversion - conditions over the lake assist tropo by forcing the zone further westward
